Media Bridges To Move To Crosley Telecommunications Center
“While our present facility has been great, we see this as a real opportunity to up our game for the citizens of Cincinnati,” said Media Bridges Executive Director Tom Bishop. “A new facility, of comparable or better quality than any production operation in town, with the addition of some new production tools, new classroom computers and new editing equipment will raise the bar for community producers.”
“Media Bridges’ move to the CET facilities offers benefits and opportunities to both organizations,” said CET Executive Vice President and Station Manager Jack Dominic. ”We share a commitment to serving the community, a faith that public media can make a real difference in community life. This partnership is not a merger, like CET and ThinkTV, but sharing facilities at a single location really will allow us to work more closely together. It’s an opportunity to collaborate and explore innovative joint services. We’re pleased that Media Bridges will be moving to the CET building and studios in early May.”
The facility will also host Media Bridges’ radio station, WVQC-LP 95.7 fm. ”The move to Crosley will enable us to expand our hours of live programming on WVQC,” Bishop said, “as well as providing an improved radio studio with the capability to also go live to our community access television stations.”
Media Bridges will begin moving its facilities on March 1st, while continuing to provide its full range of services at its current 1100 Race Street location. The last day of business at the old facility will be April 20th, followed by an eleven day hiatus to complete the move, and then Media Bridges will open for business at the new location on May 3rd.
Media Bridges is Cincinnati’s Community Media Center, empowering diverse communities to effectively utilize the power of media. The organization offers free classes in media production, a community radio station and operates the city of Cincinnati’s 4 Public & Educational Access TV Channels seen via Time-Warner Cable.
